Helen Lacey
Soprano
Helen Lacey is a versatile lyric soprano with a particular interest in the art song repertoire and working with current composers. She loves to bring repertoire to audiences in unconventional ways, whether that be – location, form, or story.
Helen has recently performed at Blackheath Halls as a Young Artist with SongEasel. She is also a BBC Introducing Artist for Radio 3, performing on In-tune, Late Junction and premiering Anna Appleby’s Winds of Iona at Latitude Festival. Previously, Helen was a Young Artist for Leeds Lieder festival.
Helen’s unique and engaging style formed when studying at The Royal Academy of Music. She has an urge for storytelling through poetry and song, and showcasing music by contemporary and underrepresented composers. As part of the Song Circle programme, she performed Grace Evangeline Mason’s Kite Song in the Academy ‘200 Pieces’ Festival. Helen is a featured artist on Will Todd’s album Passion Music and James Cook’s Liebestod.
Among her recent engagements, is performing as 1st Bridesmaid in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne and at Donne’s 24hr World Record Event Let Her Music Play - promoting gender equality in music.
