Klara Solén

Klara Solén is a mezzo-soprano from Sweden with a deep love of storytelling and a passion for expressing herself on stage through music. She is currently studying for a BMus in voice with Susan Waters and James Baillieu at the Royal Academy of Music where she was admitted with direct entry into the third year of the course.

Klara recently made her UK operatic debut in the title role of Rossini’s La Cenerentola with the London-based opera company Hampstead Garden Opera to critical acclaim, and in the summer of 2026 she will be singing her first Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at Dalafloda Operafest in Sweden.

Prior to her studies in the UK, she trained at Kapellsberg’s Opera Studio in Sweden, where she performed in productions at the Swedish Northern Operahouse, Norrlandsoperan, in roles such as Bizet’s Carmen, and Oberon in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Klara is an active performer of both oratorio and art song. She is a 2026 Leeds Song young artist, a member of the Royal Academy Song Circle, and she is supported by the Josephine Baker Trust.

Klara has worked in coachings and masterclasses with artists such as Aigul Akhmetshina, Susan Bullock, Julius Drake, Jennifer Larmore, Anna Larsson, and Matthew Rose. She is professionally represented by Eliasson Artist Management, and her studies at the Academy are generously supported by, among others, Ulf Thörnqvist and Terje Groe-Langseth's scholarship for young singers, the Thora Ohlsson cultural fund, Sophie’s Silver Lining Fund, and she is a recipient of the Anders Sandrew scholarship.
