26. Akkordeon Baroque: Loré Lixenberg & Bartosz Glowacki

14 October 2020, 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Loré Lixenberg is one of today’s most exciting mezzo-sopranos, renowned for her wide range of repertoire and interests, as perfectly reflected in this fascinating programme. She is joined by Bartosz Glowacki, hailed as one of the outstanding accordionists of his generation and a City Music Foundation Artist.

Their programme was inspired by Loré’s experience in Berlin in winter of astonishingly accomplished accordionists playing Baroque music on the freezing streets. It spans centuries, from the 12th century and Hildegard of Bingen, via Bach and Purcell, to John Cage and contemporary French composer Frédéric Acquaviva.

This recital is given by kind invitation of Bernard and Sarah Taylor in Rycote Chapel. This historic 15th-century Chapel has exquisitely carved and painted woodwork and many intriguing features, including two early 17th-century roofed pews and a musicians’ gallery.

This concert will be streamed completely live. Shortly afterwards, it will also be available to watch again (using the same ticket and link) until 1 November 2020. Click here for further information on how tickets will work this year.
