3. Helen Charlston & Toby Carr: Battle Cry
14 October 2022, 5:00pm - 6:00pm
For the first of our lute-song recitals, Helen Charlston, a BBC New Generation Artist, and Toby Carr present Battle Cry, a programme taken from their recent, acclaimed disc of the same name on Delphian Records. The programme rebalances the 17th-century obsession with female abandonment and lament, incorporating works by Purcell, Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi and their contemporaries, as well as a specially commissioned work by Owain Park.
