Anna Menzies

Cello

Anna Menzies is a versatile cellist, regularly performing in a variety of guises at venues across the UK and beyond. 

As a founder member of the Gildas Quartet her chamber music career has taken her in many interesting directions, including working closely with eminent composers such as Sir Colin Matthews, Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Philip Cashian and Cheryl Frances Hoad. Anna’s interests span from early music to contemporary: she appears regularly as a continuo player, frequently performs as guest principal with the Orchestra of the Swan and enjoys all sorts of other freelance collaborations. 

She teaches cello at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
