Carolin Jurkat
Soprano
Carolin Jurkat began her studies in theology and music in Hannover before transfering to study singing at the HMDK Stuttgart and the HMT Rostock. She will continue with her Master's in Munich.
Her first operatic roles included Frasquita (Carmen) und Amor (Orpheus in der Unterwelt). Further studies are taking the young singer to roles like Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Musetta (La Bohème).
Recently, Carolin has been focusing on the Lied and oratorio repertoire. The works of Bach, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Debussy are especially important to her. Collaborations with the conductors like Kirill Petrenko and Howard Arman have been very influential.
2022 Carolin Jurkat was awarded with the third prize of the 27th Lions Club Musikpreis Gesang Distrikt 111ON.
