Chris Price is Director of Music at Canterbury Christ Church University and was for many years a Tenor Lay Clerk (gentleman singer) in the choir of Canterbury Cathedral. He completed his PhD with Durham University, and this was published in January 2019 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing under the title The Canterbury Catch Club 1826 - Music in the Frame. He has also edited a book of catches and glees from the Canterbury Collection, entitled As Thomas Was Cudgell'd One Day by his Wife. Other publications include articles for Music in Art and The Literary Encyclopedia. He has given conference papers throughout the UK and further afield, in Europe, Russia, China, and Hong Kong. Alongside his academic work he pursues a lively career as singer, workshop leader, and choral conductor.
