Lucy Colquhoun
Pianist
Lucy studied at Royal College of Music with Roger Vignoles winning all the major accompaniment prizes (Joan Chissell Schumann Prize, Alisdair Graham Prize, Titanic Memoriam Prize) along with numerous scholarships. She is also the winner of the Somerset Song Prize and RJ Forbes Prize for Piano Accompaniment from the Royal Northern College of Music.
She is a Britten-Pears and Samling Artist. Performance highlights include the Purcell Room Southbank, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, St John’s Smith Square, Royal Philharmonic Society, Park Lane Group (working closely with Joseph Horovitz) Red House Aldeburgh - Britten-Pears Foundation, Worshipful Company of Musicians, Oxford Lieder Festival, St-James’s-Piccadilly, St-Martin-in-the-Fields, Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, 22 Mansfield Street, Lichfield Festival, King’s Lynn Festival, Brighton Festival, Lichfield Festival, Austrian Cultural Forum, Grieg Society, Cheltenham Town Hall, International Festival of Sacred Music Bogotá, British Music Society and Durham University accompanying Sir Thomas Allen.
She has broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Colombian National Television and played for five singers in Ferrier finals (2019/2022) at London’s Wigmore Hall including winner, Benson Wilson and 2022 second prize and song prize holder Emma Roberts. She is a staff member at the Royal College of Music. She has just recorded a Lieder disc for Champs Hill Records being released in 2023.
