Flora Willson is a cultural historian of music and lecturer at King’s College London, where her teaching and research focus on 19th-century music (particularly opera) and its relationship to urban culture. She also writes about music for The Guardian and Opera magazine, contributes programme notes and talks for institutions including English National Opera, Glyndebourne, the BBC Proms, Royal Opera House and South Bank Centre, and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 3 broadcasts.
