Johannes Moore

Baritone

Johannes Moore, is a second-year Baritone at Royal Academy Opera under Mark Wildman, Iain Ledingham, and James Baileue. He is supported by Carr-Gregory Trust, Josephine Baker Trust, Countess of Munster Musical Trust, and Elmley Foundation.

Roles at RAO include Sid in Albert Herring, Slook in La Cambiale di matrimonio, Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro, and Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Elsewhere as John Falstaff, Sir John in Love (British Youth Opera), Gianni Schicchi, and Aeneas (Edinburgh studio Opera).

As a Köln Foundation scholar, he performed Cantatas at RAM under Sir John Butt, Masaki Suzuki, and Philippe Herreweghe, notably as Christus in St John Passion. Recent highlights include soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall and Mephistopheles in Lili Boulanger’s Faust et Helene.

Winner of the Copenhagen International Lied-Duo, David Clover, Richard Lewis/Jean Shanks Song Prize, and the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song Prize, Johannes recently studied at Georg Solti Accademia and is part of Wigmore Hall French Song Exchange and Academy Song Circle.
