Joseph Beesley

Joseph Beesley is a repetiteur, accompanist and conductor based in Munich. He joined the Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper as a Korrepetitor at the start of the 2022/23 season. Joseph read music at Oxford University, and then went on to train as a repetiteur on the opera course at the Guildhall School of Music under the guidance of Dominic Wheeler, Liz Rowe and Bretton Brown. He has acted as a repetiteur for productions at the Guildhall as well as for New Chamber Opera, British Youth Opera and Opera Holland Park. Joseph has performed as a recitalist throughout Germany and the UK, and has accompanied numerous masterclasses with esteemed teachers such as Helmut Deutsch, Edith Weins, Brigitte Fassbaender, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, James Conlon and Mark Padmore. Joseph is equally at home on the conductor’s podium, having performed at venues such as Blackheath Halls and the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, and had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned soloists Madeleine Mitchell and Nigel Shore.
