Lilly Vadaneaux

Pianist

Lilly is a pianist, singer and composer based in London. She is currently pursuing a Master of Performance in piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studies with Sam Armstrong and Ronan O’Hora and is supported by the Gillian and Freddie Martin Award. Lilly read Music and was a Choral Scholar at Clare College, Cambridge. She was an Instrumental Award Scheme holder as a member of a piano quintet, with regular concerts, coaching and the opportunity to work with Nico Muhly on one of his pieces. In her final year, Lilly was a pianist on the CAMRAM scheme, receiving lessons at the Royal Academy of Music with Andrew West.

Previously, Lilly studied piano and composition at the Guildhall Junior Department from 2011 to 2021, where she won the Junior Guildhall Piano Prize and was a Lutine Prize finalist. As a composer, Lilly has a strong interest in working with texts, and her works have been recognised in numerous competitions. She has received mentoring from Roxanna Panufnik and has been commissioned to write works for the West Wicklow Festival, Opera Cameratina Festival and Electric Voice Theatre.

Lilly is the soprano in the Bruegel Consort, a five-part early music vocal ensemble she founded in 2023, which was selected for the Stile Antico Ensemble Development Scheme 2024-26.
