Lucy Hall

Soprano

Lucy Hall is from Nottinghamshire, England. She completed her training at the National Opera Studio and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she graduated with a First Class Honours and the Dove Memorial Prize for being the highest marked graduate and the Ann Wyburd Prize for Lieder.  

Operatic engagements include Susanna and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Euridice Orfeo ed Euridice and Echo Ariadne auf Naxos for Scottish Opera, Jen in the award-winning 4.48 Psychosisand Lila in The Firework Maker’s Daughterfor the Royal Opera, Galatea Acis and Galateafor English National Opera, Sandrina La Finta Giardinieraat the Opéra de Toulon and the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, Marzelline Fidelioand Morgana Alcinafor Longborough Festival Opera, Zerlina Don Giovanniand Matilde in Rossini’sElisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra for the English Touring Opera, Echo Ariadne auf Naxosfor Opera Holland Park, Susanna Le Nozze di Figarowith Diva Opera, Barbarina at the Festival d’Aix and she created the role of Asia in Glyndebourne’s Jerwood Young Artists Opera, Wakening Shadow, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. 

In concert, Lucy has appeared with many leading orchestras. With the BBC Philharmonic she sang Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Marzelline in Fidelioand Schubert's Einsamkeitunder HK Gruber, later reprised with Juanjo Mena. With the London Symphony Orchestra, she sang in Nielsen's 3rd Symphonyconducted by Sir Colin Davis and the Bridesmaid in Der Freischütz. She then returned to sing Flora in The Turn of the Screwin a cast handpicked by the late Sir Colin Davis. She toured Israel performing Bach Cantata's with the Israel Camerata and sang in the Good Friday Messiahat the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lucy has collaborated with the conductors Sir Colin Davis, Leonardo García Alarcón, Juanjo Mena, Richard Farnes, H K Gruber, Vladimir Jurowski, William Christie, Gérard Korsten, Benjamin Pope, Raphaël Pichon, Jérémie Rhorer, Andreas Spering, Takuo Yuasa, Alexander Ingram and Timothy Brown.

Future plans include a role debut as Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the English Touring Opera.
