Pianist
The Catalan pianist Mar Compte studied her piano bachelor in Barcelona at the Escola
Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) with Jean-François Dichamp.
Her professors for chamber music lessons were Kennedy Moretti, Arnau Tomàs and Abel Tomàs (Casals Quartet). In Lied she was taught by Francisco Poyato.
In 2020/2021 she completed the Master's degree in Lied at ESMUC with the pianist Josep Surinyac.
As part of the Life Victoria Barcelona Festival, she has taken part of masterclasses by Simon Lepper and Malcolm Martineau. She also performed at the festival as a Life New Artist for three consecutive years. In May 2021, she made her debut as a principal artist playing together with pianist Sholto Kynoch.
She has also been a member of the Vilabertran’s Schubertíada Academy with Juliane Banse and Wolfram Rieger.
Mar Compte's career has been marked by performances in her native Spain and in her adopted country Germany.
Since the winter semester of 2021/2022, she has been studying Lied with Prof. Marcelo Amaral at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg in Germany, where she received the DAAD Prize 2022 for outstanding achievements by foreign students at German universities.
