Matina Tsaroucha

Soprano

Matina Tsaroucha is a Greek soprano studying for her Master’s in Performance at the Royal College of Music in London, as a Karaviotis Scholar.
She holds a bachelor's degree with honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she held a scholarship.

Matina won 2nd prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards 2023 – one of the most prestigious singing competitions in the UK, which took place at Wigmore Hall.
She has won 1st place at the 2023 Maria Callas foundation competition which took place at the Megaron Concert Hall of Athens.

Matina will make her debut at the Oxford International Song Festival in October 2023, following on from performing as a soloist at the Grange Festival tour in September of 2023.
She has been selected to be a soloist in two opera galas in Italy with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation in August 2023.

She has participated in opera galas with world-renowned singers from the Greek National Opera, sang in Verdi’s Requiem at the Barbican Centre and was a semi- finalist in the Mozart Singing Competition 2022.

Since her debut with the Greek National Orchestra of ERT in 2018, Matina has played many roles, including Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), Magda (La Rondine) and Leila (Les pêcheurs de perles) at the Britten Theatre in RCM’s opera scenes, as well as the role of Adele (Die Fledermaus). In the upcoming 2023/24 season, Matina debuts as Mimì (La bohème) in London.

Matina was selected as one of 4 singers to perform in the Royal College of Music Open Day Concert in the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall and has also performed in the RCM SongPlus Series.
