Rachel Munro

Soprano

Award-winning Scottish soprano Rachel Munro graduated with a Master of Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and a degree in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews. She currently studies with Wilma MacDougall, and has been generously supported by The Scottish International Education, Cross, and RCS trusts.

Along with duo partner Jia Ning Ng, she recently won first prize at the prestigious North Aldborough Festival ‘New Voices’ Singing Competition, and was also a prize winner in the RCS’s 2025 Governor’s Recital, and Ye Cronies Opera Competitions.

During her time in St. Andrews she performed such roles as Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte), Mary Crawford (Mansfield Park) and Mélisande (Pelléas and Mélisande); upon graduating was awarded the Cedric Thorpe Davie Prize for outstanding contribution to the musical life of the University.

Further roles performed include: Lay Sister (Suor Angelica, Opera Bohemia 2025), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus, Fife Opera 2024), Musetta (La Bohème, Fife Opera 2025), and cover Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, RCS 2025).

Upcoming solo engagements include, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria, as well as recitals at the 2026 Leeds International and North Aldborough Festivals.
