Stella Marie Lorenz
Pianist
Pianist Stella Marie Lorenz’s performed recently at Wigmore Hall, Leeds Lieder Festival and for Grange Festival recitals. She is a prizewinner of the Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award, the Historical Female Composer Award and the Elena Gerhard Lieder Prize. She is a Live Music Now Artist and was a Leeds Lieder Young Artist, Song Easel Young Artist and a Richard Wagner Verband Wien scholar.
She studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Malcolm Martineau, Michael Dussek and James Baillieu, and where she regularly coached singers. Before, she studied with Markus Hadulla at mdw Vienna, and with Gerold Huber and Roger Vignoles.
She is passionate about contemporary pieces and worked closely with composers like Bernhard Lang, Moritz Eggert and Otfried Büsing whose songs she performed, some of which have been dedicated to and premiered by her. Her CD with Büsing’s songs and arias will be released in 2024.
Stella promotes diverse composers. Stella took part in the 24h-marathon of DONNE UK on Feb 22 featuring female and trans composers. She loves to combine these with great pieces from the standard repertoire to create concert programmes that engage and catch the audience to make them explore new repertoire.
This season, Stella performs at La Monnaie/Brussels, Royal Opera House London, Theatre Arsonic in Mons as well as in France, Germany and the UK.
