The Carice Singers

Ensemble

The Carice Singers is a British vocal ensemble founded and conducted by George Parris. The group began life giving concerts in and around Parris’ home in the Cotswolds and making recordings of British choral works for the Naxos label, inspired by its namesake, Carice Elgar (the composer’s daughter). In 2016, the choir was praised for its “captivating interpretations” (Choir & Organ Magazine) and for possessing a “beauty of tone” and “musicality” that few can match” (Gramophone Magazine).

More recently, Carice has performed at Cheltenham Music Festival, The Ludlow English Song Weekend, and the Oxford Lieder Festival, and has recorded Parry’s Songs of Farewell for the BBC Music Magazine. The ensemble is now committed to bringing a fresh and translucent sound to a wide spectrum of music, with a particular focus on promoting curiosity and discovery for Romantic and Contemporary repertoire.
