Theo Perry
Bass
British baritone Theo Perry recently graduated from the Masters course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where he studied with Jon Christos, Sophie Grimmer and Helen Yorke, and won the Trinity Laban Gold Medal, the Paul Simm Opera award, and a Director’s Prize for Excellence. During his studies he has been generously supported by The Rosenblatt Trust, The Harriet Cohen Memorial Music Awards, The Drapers’ Society, Silver Linings Trust (for British Youth Opera) and The Kathleen Roberts Trust.
Along with Guy, Theo has participated in masterclasses with Roderick Williams (Blackheath Halls) and Thomas Quasthoff (Wigmore Hall). Theo joined the cast for Hampstead Garden Opera’s socially-distanced and acclaimed production of Sāvitri by Gustav Holst in July 2020 and has sung roles in Don Giovanni (Rogue Opera, Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra), The Elixir of Love (The King’s Head Theatre/Opera’r D’draig) and Thea Musgrave’s A Christmas Carol (Trinity Laban Opera). He appeared in the ensemble of British Youth Opera’s 2019 production of La Cenerentola, at the Peacock Theatre, Holborn.
Recent concert experience includes British Women in Song (BBC Radio 3/Trinity Laban, curated by Sophie Fuller), Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer and assorted lieder (Trinity Laban, curated by Eugene Asti) and recitals for the Buckingham Summer Festival (in memory of his uncle Bruce Kershaw), Brentwood Cathedral and Chelmsford Cathedral.
