What to expect An uplifting evening of lute songs and choral works, celebrating the 400th anniversaries of composer William Byrd, and of the Shakespeare First Folio held by The Queen’s College. The first part of the evening will take place in the College Chapel, with the glorious polyphony of William Byrd and songs by his contemporaries, before we move to the College Hall for exuberant Shakespeare settings, with wine and cheese on the tables and the choir singing from the gallery.
The Artists Tenor Nicholas Mulroy is widely admired for the breadth and insight of his performances. ‘The sheer expressivity of his singing was a thing of wonder’ (The Times). He’s joined by the exceptional lutenist Toby Carr and The Choir of The Queen’s College, one of Oxford’s finest ensembles.
