Song at Wolfson: Olivia Boen & Sholto Kynoch

05 May 2022, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

We are delighted to welcome soprano Olivia Boen, with pianist Sholto Kynoch, for a programme of songs that owes its origins to Salzburg's famous Café Bazar. The Café Bazar was an extraordinary meeting place for creative intellectuals in the 1920s and was the launchpad for the International Society of Contemporary Music one hundred years ago. Today's programme features music by some of the most important composers in ISCM's early days: Debussy, Strauss, Ethel Smyth, Manuel de Falla and others.

Olivia is an award-winning graduate of the Opera Course at the Guildhall where she was a finalist in the 2021 Gold Medal competition at the Barbican. She also gave one of the 2021 Oxford Lieder Festival's 'Emerging Artist' slots.
