55. Yajie Zhang, Hartmut Höll: Gustav Mahler

The young Chinese mezzo-soprano Yajie Zhang stands out for ‘her colourful timbre, flawless voice, and remarkable receptivity’ (Operawire) and garners similar praise wherever she performs. Together with the celebrated German pianist Hartmut Höll, she presents a programme of Mahler songs, including his Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen and the monumental final movement of Das Lied von der Erde; ‘Der Abschied’.
