Heinrich Hüttenbrenner
1799 - 1830Heinrich Hüttenbrenner was a member of the musical Austrian family, memorable for its connection with Beethoven and Schubert. He studied Law at Graz and the University of Vienna, eventually securing a position as Professor of Roman and Ecclesiastical Law at Graz. His two brothers, Anselm a composer, and Josef who was Schubert's secretary, were already acquainted with Schubert before Heinrich met him in Vienna.
His poem Der Jüngling auf dem Hügel (D702) was set by Schubert.
