Adolf Strauss
1902 - 1944Adolf Strauss was a Czech pianist, violinist, accordion and harmonica player, composer and kapellmeister. He studied at the Prague Conservatory, before moving to Leipzig, where he became conductor of the Leipzig Kristallpalast.
During the war he was active in the ghetto of Prague until he was deported to Theresienstadt concentration camp, where he continued his work as a musician. In 1944, he was transported to Auschwitz, where he was killed.
