48. Werner Güra, Christoph Berner: Schubert Ballads

23 October 2022, 7:30pm - 9:00pm

Our special 'afternoon with Schubert' offer includes tickets to this concert and the 5pm recital with Birgid Steinberger & Julius Drake, dinner in between, and return transport from Oxford Parkway station for those who wish to avoid city-centre traffic and parking. Click here for details.

The German tenor Werner Güra has always had song at the heart of his varied and prestigious career. His many recordings with the pianist Christoph Berner have all won prizes and garnered acclaim, and the duo have performed together in all the leading recital venues. We are delighted to welcome them to Oxford for the first time as part of our Schubert Weekend. Their programme of Schubert ballads includes the dramatic setting of Schiller’s ‘Der Taucher’, a thrilling tale of medieval chivalry and corrupted power.

All our seating within each ticket price band is unreserved; please arrive in good time to take your seat. For groups of more than 10, please phone or email the box office to book your tickets.

The event duration is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and there will be no interval.
