56. Winter Journey: Roderick Williams, Nicholas Mogg, Christopher Glynn
21 October 2019, 8:00pm - 9:50pm
Roderick Williams continues his survey of the Schubert cycles, in English translations by Jeremy Sams, with pianist Christopher Glynn. Tonight’s ‘Winter Journey’ is preceded by a new cycle, World of Ice, commissioned from Ross Griffey, whom Festival audiences met last year during his events as an Albi Rosenthal Visiting Fellow at the Bodleian Libraries. He sets texts based on nineteenth-century Arctic exploration with his trademark wit and poignancy.
