Song at Wolfson: Claire Barnett-Jones & Sholto Kynoch
17 November 2022, 6:00pm - 7:00pm
AN EVENING AT COURT
Claire Barnett-Jones mezzo-soprano
Sholto Kynoch piano
Claire Barnett-Jones is fast becoming one of the most sought-after voices on both the operatic stage and the concert platform, recently being named one of Operawire’s Top 10 Rising Stars after being a Finalist and Winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2021.
We're thrilled to bring her to Oxford for an early-evening recital of songs and sagas of royal figures across the ages, joined as always by Oxford Lieder’s
Artistic Director, Sholto Kynoch. Their selection of music ranges from Schubert's
Ave Maria to King Harald's Saga by Judith Weir (Master of the Queen’s Music)
to Liszt's The King of Thule, Herbert Howells' King David and Schumann's
Mary Stuart Lieder, with a few surprises as well. Join us for a wonderful,
varied and uplifting concert of great music and poetry, singing and playing.
