Argentinian baritone Germán Enrique Alcántara is a true rising star: an alumnus of the Jette Parker programme at The Royal Opera and a sought-after recitalist. With renowned pianist Anna Tilbrook, he brings a selection of songs from Argentina, including works by Guastavino and Ginastera as well as less familiar composers such as Carlos López Buchardo, Ana Carrique, and Celia Torrá. Interspersed in this recital are a selection of Donizetti songs (see Event 26), in which the composer's signature gift for bel canto melody aligns with a deep sensitivity to poetic texts.
