Viardot and her circle

The pianist Anne Le Bozec has given a number of astonishing performances at the Festival in recent years, and today she is joined by the exceptional French baritone Thomas Dolié. Together they perform songs by Pauline Viardot and her contemporaries, including her close friend Clara Schumann, as well as Fauré, Bizet and Liszt. Their programme is reminiscent of the gatherings that took place at Viardot’s legendary salon in Paris and reflects the extraordinary breadth of her musical circle.
