29. Marie-Laure Garnier, Célia Oneto Bensaid, Quatuor Hanson: La bonne Chanson

We are thrilled to welcome back the astonishing duo of Marie-Laure Garnier and Célia Oneto Bensaid, who have given two memorable concerts for us in recent years. Tonight, they are joined by one of France’s most exciting emerging quartets, Quatuor Hanson. Fauré’s La bonne Chanson, one of the centrepieces of the French song repertoire, is at the heart of the programme, heard tonight in its version by the composer for voice, piano and string quartet. Also included are two works by Fauré's friend and contemporary Ernest Chausson: his Chanson Perpetuelle and the magical Poème de l'amour et de la mer. They also include songs by Charlotte Sohy, increasingly recognised as a leading French composer of the early twentieth century, and a friend of both Fauré and Chausson.

All our seating is unreserved; please arrive in good time to take your seat. For groups of more than 10, please phone or email the box office to book your tickets.

The event duration is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and there will be no interval.
