80. Dangerous Liaisons: Louise Alder, Nikolay Borchev & Sholto Kynoch

26 October 2019, 7:30pm - 9:20pm

Love, omnipresent in song, is a dangerous game, from the fatal allure of the Lorelei to foolish dares undertaken in its name. Louise Alder and Nikolay Borchev bring the Festival to a thrilling close, with songs by Schubert, Liszt, Schumann and others. Louise Alder gave a sensational concert at the 2018 Festival, not long after her triumph at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. Belarusian baritone Nikolay Borchev has been hailed for his performances at the Royal Opera House, Edinburgh Festival, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and other major venues internationally, as well as for his passionate, committed recitals. Two superb artists for an uplifting finale to this year’s Festival.
