Stephan Loges & Eugene Asti: Brahms songs
09 March 2018, 7:30pm - 9:10pm
After his thrilling Mahler performance on the last night of the 2017 Oxford Lieder Festival, we are delighted to welcome back bass-baritone Stephan Loges, with renowned pianist Eugene Asti, for an evening of songs by Johannes Brahms. These glorious works will be introduced by Natasha Loges, whose new book Brahms and his Poets has just been released. Brahms’s astonishing melodic gifts shine through in his songs, but a reappraisal of his acute sensitivity to texts and the art of settings words to music is long overdue.
After tonight’s concert, Friends of Oxford Lieder are invited to an informal reception. Please click here to find out more about supporting the work of Oxford Lieder.
The Spring Weekend Pass is an excellent-value way to attend all events across the weekend, saving money and time in booking, and allowing you to immerse yourself in song. Book here.
