61. Forest Twilight: Sophie Karthäuser, Stephan Loges & Eugene Asti

A star trio performs songs by Schubert, Brahms and Mendelssohn, with poems of knights in ruined castles and twilit encounters in mysterious forests. They include Schumann’s Liederkreis Op.39, setting the poetry of Eichendorff, as a perfect complement to these songs. Sophie Karthäuser, Stephan Loges and Eugene Asti are firm favourites at the Oxford Lieder Festival, and we are delighted to reunite them for this very special programme.
